Do you realise …. that not every social media tool or service is for you?
To me, that’s the great thing about social media and the tools created to engage with it. Many just click with you, but depending on how you work, how you interact with online services, how you interact with the world, how you think, some of these services just won’t be for you. You won’t instinctively get on with them, you may find that they complicate your social media world, rather than simplify it. For me, having only just started to play around with it, backstit.ch seems like one of these. FOR ME.
Others may love Backstitch. Maybe you’ll find its aggregation of not just blog feeds but feeds from multiple social media services really useful? Well, good on yer! But whilst I appreciate the benefit of cross-platform services like Backstich, I don’t massively dig them. And the weird thing is, I really don’t know why. I like the principle of them, but they don’t really work for me aesthetically or functionally. I often find their set-up and admin a bit ‘cluncky’ (as I found with Backstitch).
However, I’m going to stick with it, play around with it abit more. See how it goes. Who knows, maybe I’ll come to realise that is is genuinely useful …. BUT, remember this: there will be other social media tools out there that you will get on with, come to love & use as part of your daily life. Hopefully more good services than crappy ones.
Anyhow …. here’s The Flaming Lips ‘Do You Realize’:
